About

Hello, I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Corrie! A military spouse with a passion for looking at things differently. Not through rose colored glasses, but through a joyful heart.

We joined the military a little later than normal and with a few years of full-time civilian work and full-time ministry work, I’ve come to see that all of life has highs and lows, pros and cons. As I began to follow other military accounts, I would laugh along with the funny memes but also started to see that sometimes there was an undercurrent of bitterness or complaining. I LOVE a funny meme about military life, but I also wanted to provide a space that celebrated the uniqueness, the blessings, and the adventure of it all…if only one is able to see it! And from that, A Joyful Milspouse was born.

My background / education is in Exercise Science and I have a passion for all things healthy living so the archives and occasional post will have a bit of that…I can’t help it :). But the heart of why I’m here is to encourage and share resources that I pray will be useful to you as a military spouse.

Other fun things about me and my family,

-We have two boys, Freeland and Ashford (whose names and meanings I’m still passionate about).

-We love Jesus and serving the local church and on-post community through hospitality and building relationships!

-You’ll likely find us up early on Saturdays exploring new hiking trails, history museums, parks, etc etc.

-I have a BS in Kinesiology, am an ACSM certified personal trainer, and women’s health specialist…I’m passionate about post partum fitness…don’t get me started ;).

I’d love to learn more about you and what brought you to this space!
